Stellar Built a Career Path for Its Builders
A Problem Worth Solving
Most ecosystem programs treat every newcomer the same way. A curious developer at a weekend workshop and a founding team gearing up for a funding round need very different things. The Stellar Development Foundation just launched the Stellar Ambassador Program to fix that mismatch. Instead of a one-size-fits-all onboarding flow, the program builds a real progression. It matches support to the stage a builder is actually in. That shift turns casual curiosity into a structured path toward shipping something real.
Four Tiers, One Ladder
The program runs on four tiers. Explorer is the starting point, where newcomers join a local Chapter and learn the ecosystem through open workshops. Contributor comes next, for people already producing work like technical content or mentorship. This tier unlocks bootcamps and speaking opportunities. Builder is where projects take shape. A deployed smart contract, a working MVP, or an SCF-funded contribution can qualify a member for this tier. Builders gain product integration support and can earn Instawards worth up to $15,000 for early prototyping. Ecosystem Leader sits at the top. This tier rewards people whose impact reaches beyond their own project, including founder-readiness support for teams preparing to raise capital.
From Local Workshop to Mainnet Launch
The tiers connect into a single pipeline instead of four disconnected programs. Chapter referrals and Instawards can feed directly into the Stellar Community Fund Build Award track. Eligible projects can receive up to $150,000 in XLM through that track, taking them from a validated concept to a live mainnet launch. In other words, someone can start at a local meetup and end up running a funded company, all within the same continuous system.
Built for Global Reach
Ambassador Chapters already run active programs across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Each chapter hosts its own events and mentorship tailored to regional needs. This local-first approach reflects something Stellar has leaned into for years. Building a global financial network means showing up in specific communities first, not just publishing documentation and hoping developers stumble onto it.
Why This Matters for Traders Too
Programs like this signal ecosystem health. More builders shipping on Stellar means more assets, more liquidity, and more real activity flowing through the network over time. Lumexo exists to make that activity easy to act on. As a non-custodial trading platform built on Stellar, Lumexo gives traders fast access to the Stellar DEX and Blend lending markets, and you never hand over custody of your funds. When new projects graduate from programs like the Ambassador Program and list their tokens, Lumexo is where you can trade them quickly, safely, and on your own terms.
