RedStone Brings Ondo’s USDY to Stellar DeFi Through SEP-40
A New Price Feed Opens the Door for USDY
RedStone has launched a USDY/USD price feed on Stellar, paired with SEP-40 contract support for Ondo Finance’s yield-bearing dollar token. USDY is backed by short-term U.S. Treasuries and bank deposits. It already carries a circulating supply near 1.9 billion tokens with a market cap above $2.1 billion. That makes it one of the larger tokenized yield assets in the RWA category anywhere. Unlike a stablecoin, USDY is not pegged to a dollar. Its price accrues above $1 as the underlying Treasury yield builds up, which is exactly why a live feed matters. With this integration, USDY becomes eligible for listing as collateral on Stellar lending protocols such as Blend and Templar. The feed alone would not be enough. It needed a standardized wrapper too, and that is exactly what SEP-40 provides.
Why SEP-40 Matters for Builders
SEP-40 is Stellar’s shared interface for oracle data. Instead of every protocol building a custom integration for every asset, developers can pull pricing through one consistent standard. This removes a real technical headache on Soroban, where custom adapters add gas costs and complexity for each pairing. Consequently, a token like USDY can plug into multiple lending markets without repeated engineering work. RedStone brings a strong track record here. The firm has secured more than $6 billion across over 110 chains with zero mispricing events.
Part of a Bigger RWA Push
This launch does not stand alone. RedStone already runs SEP-40 feeds for nine live assets on Stellar. That list includes stablecoins like USDC and EURC, tokenized sovereign debt, and Bitcoin-linked products from Etherfuse and Solv. Stellar’s tokenized RWA value has reached roughly $2.96 billion, close to tripling since early 2025. Franklin Templeton’s FOBXX helped prove the model back in 2021. Since then, names like WisdomTree, Ondo, Paxos, and Société Générale Forge have followed. Each new feed adds another piece to a data layer built for lending, trading, and derivatives.
What Comes Next for USDY on Stellar
Whether Blend or Templar chooses to list USDY as collateral is still up to those protocols. What RedStone has delivered is the infrastructure that makes that decision possible. Once listed, USDY could support onchain savings, treasury management, and cross-border payments for users who want yield without leaving Stellar. Given USDY’s scale, that would meaningfully deepen collateral options across Stellar DeFi.
Trading the Stellar RWA Wave With Lumexo
Every new oracle connection like this one makes Stellar’s DeFi layer more usable and more composable. Tokenized treasuries, stablecoins, and yield products keep stacking up on the network, and that growth needs an easy way in. Lumexo gives traders non-custodial access to the Stellar DEX, Blend lending markets, and stablecoins like USDC and EURC. It is one platform built for fast, simple trading in the Stellar ecosystem.
